Botulinum toxin (Botox) is a purified protein used to temporarily relax specific facial muscles, reducing the appearance of fine lines and dynamic wrinkles, especially on the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Results typically appear within a few days and last 3–4 months.
Contraindications:
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Neurological disorders (e.g., myasthenia gravis)
Active infection at the injection site
Allergy to botulinum toxin or its components
Procedure:
The treatment involves a series of small injections into specific muscles using a very fine needle. The procedure takes about 10–15 minutes. No anesthesia is required, though ice or numbing cream can be applied if desired. Discomfort is minimal and brief.
Aftercare:
Avoid lying down for 4 hours post-treatment
No strenuous activity or facial massages for 24 hours
Avoid alcohol and blood thinners on the day of treatment
Mild swelling or bruising may occur and will resolve within days
